Top Ten Tuesday: (Five) Most Anticipated Books of the Second Half of 2021

Created by and with thanks to That Artsy Reader! This week’s prompt is about to reveal how terrible I am at keeping up with recent releases…

1. Bad Witch Burning by Jessica Lewis, coming in August
All I know from the blurb is that this book involves cashing in on necromancy–and I am interested. (Though of course I’ll save it for Halloween, because what are those publishers thinking, with a summer release?)

2. A Lesson in Vengeance by Victoria Lee, August
I’ve been looking forward to this one since January. Sapphic occult dark academia. That’s all.

3. The Hawthorne Legacy by Jennifer Lynn Barnes, September
Here’s a confession: I still haven’t read the first in the Inheritance Games series. But JLB is an autobuy author for me, so I’ll get to it as soon as I can get the prettier US covers!

4. Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid, June
Yes, this book is already out. Yes, I already bought it. Yes, I’m that bad at these sort of lists. But it was almost released in the second half of the year, so that has to count for something, right?

5. Winterkeep by Kristin Cashore, January
Yes, I’ve been wanting to read this since January, when it was released. Yes, I know that January isn’t in the second half of the year. I’m just really bad at keeping up with recent releases, okay?

What books are you looking forward to?
