Created by and with thanks to That Artsy Reader! This week’s theme had me entirely rethinking the power of an adjective…
.
1. The Cruel Prince by Holly Black
Not that ‘cruel’ is a relevant adjective, once you actually get to know soft!boi Cardan, but… Excellent title all the same!
2. Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo
‘Crooked’, on the other hand, is an entirely relevant adjective to describe Ketterdam. And we wouldn’t have it any other way. (Though it amused me endlessly, in Rule of Wolves, to see how Zoya would.)
3. Pretty Little Liars by Sara Shepard
Several adjectives for the price of one! (Especially if you count the tagline.)
4. The Secret Diary of Lizzie Bennet by Bernie Su and Kate Rorick
I love that ‘secret’ is used, when it’s the novelization of a very popular video series. I just think it’s funny.
5. The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks by E. Lockhart
Can we just talk about what a great word ‘disreputable’ is?
.
What title adjectives catch your eye?
Pretty Little Liars looks interesting!

That’s definitely one way to describe it, haha!

Crooked Kingdom is a great title, though I did enjoy Six of Crows more than that one. I’ve never read the books of Pretty Little Liars, I’ve only watched the show, which is apparently quite different!

I can never decide which I liked more SoC or CK! I read the first PLL book but did watch the series. I heard they deviate wildly, but the first was pretty accurate (except the first book was almost the first episode alone!)

Ha ha that’s a good problem to have. I think at this point, I would probably get super confused reading the books because I have the show version in my head.

Ha, that is the fear! But I’m still very much looking forward to the second season.
