It’s the most wonderful time of the year… For me on this blog! Presenting: March Madness 2022!
I ran my first March Madness bracket last year–over three weeks of voting, on here and on Instagram, you guys helped me choose my April TBR! It was such a blast, I knew from the second it finished I’d want to do it again, and here we are! (You can see the results of last year’s March Madness here!)
To recap: over the last three Fridays, I posted updated voting rounds in four categories–books from my backlist (that I’ve owned for more than two years but are unread); romances; fantasies; and rereads (books I’ve been itching to go back to for a while). (You can see rounds one, two, and three here.) And now I present to you: our March Madness winners, my April TBR!
.
On the Backlist
The Contenders:
Wonder Woman: Warbringer vs Shipwrecked; Beautiful Creatures vs Carry On; Only Ever Yours vs The Program; The Lovely and the Lost vs The Lies They Tell

WINNER: WONDER WOMAN: WARBRINGER!
Honestly, Wonder Woman has been the surprise underdog of this bracket! I genuinely thought Carry On would win, but maybe I underestimated the power of a Leigh Bardugo contender? Either way, once I’ve read Wonder Woman, I’ll finally be able to say I’ve read Leigh Bardugo’s entire back catalogue!
.
Romance
The Contenders
Get a Life, Chloe Brown vs The Ex Talk; Royals vs Red, White and Royal Blue; The Road Trip vs Second First Impressions; One True Loves vs Well Met

WINNER: THE ROAD TRIP!
I won’t lie, both finalists were books I was rooting for from the very beginning–so this winner delights me!
.
Fantasy
The Contenders
Throne of Glass vs A Court of Thorns and Roses; Graveminder vs The Bone Season; Little Thieves vs The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires; Vampire Academy vs The Sookie Stackhouse Companion

WINNER: THRONE OF GLASS!
Really, is anyone surpised a Maas won? Not me–if anything, I was only surprised Throne of Glass beat A Court of Thorns and Roses. And also how valiantly Vampire Academy fought! It decimated its contenders, right up until the Maas. Last year, I made a point to read all the March Madness runners up, as well as the winners–and I think Vampire Academy definitely deserves the same!
.
Rereads
The Contenders:
White Cat vs Red Queen; The Boyfriend List vs Anna and the French Kiss; The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks vs Pretty Little Liars; Wicked vs Wicked Game

WINNER: RED QUEEN!
Here’s a bad bookworm’s secret: I’ve had the Red Queen sequels for *years*, and never got around to reading them. (Have you seen the size of this series?!) Maybe Red Queen winning this bracket will finally propel me to read the whole series!
.
So here’s my April TBR!

Thank you so much for voting! Did anything you voted for win? (I was secretly rooting for The Road Trip, so I’m so excited to read it, and that you recommend it!)
