Created by and with thanks to That Artsy Reader! This week’s theme makes me feel every shade of greedy…
.
1. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
This fresh off the (so far, *perfect*) casting news for The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes! I don’t think I’d ever tire of more Hunger Games books. (Haymitch’s Games, anyone?)
2. The Naturals series by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
And while we’re on the subject of books that can get a little dark… We’ve had a Naturals update in the form of the novella sequel Twelve, but I want more!
3. The Princess Diaries series by Meg Cabot
I know we had Royal Wedding. I know Meg wrote those Mia diary blogs at the start of the COVID pandemic. I also know my greedy Genovian heart will never have enough.
4. To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han
I just want a lovely, fluffy, light book about Lara Jean and Peter K.’s adult romance. But I’ll take solace in the fact that at least we’re getting a Kitty TV series–is it too much to hope for Lara Jean and Peter K. cameos?
5. Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli
I know there’s a novella, and a movie, and all the rest. Just, once more, for the people in the back: I’m greedy and I want more!
.
What books could you never have enough of?
Another Hunger Games book would be interesting for sure.

Absolutely! I’m hopeful we’ll get one, too.

I want to read The Princess Diaries. I love the film, but still haven’t got round to reading them! I didn’t realise that there were bits done over the pandemic.
Have a great week!

I really hope you enjoy them if you do! There was a blog series written over the pandemic about how the characters were handling COVID–it probably won’t make much sense if you haven’t read the books, as the films do an entire 180 from the book plot, but they were very funny!
Have a great week too 🙂

Wait, we’re getting a Kitty TV series? 👀 How did I not know this?? 🤯🤗
Also, I would totally read all about Haymitch’s Games. Or Finnick’s. Or any Hunger Games content for that matter 🤩

Yes! There were some photos on Instagram from Jenny Han about it–I think it’ll be adorable!
Ha, hard same! Johanna’s would be so interesting, too. 🙂

Ooh, The Princess Diaries! I was so obsessed with that book when I was younger. I’d love to know what Mia is up to now as an adult 😂

It still holds up reading it as an adult–fills me with all the nostalgia! There’s been an adult Mia sequel and those pandemic blogs, if you ever do feel like catching up with her 😂

I would be curious to read about another Hunger Games from the POV of one of the other hero-type characters from the main trilogy. I’m not interested in other books in that series from the villain-type POV, though, so it’s possible that any additional books Collins writes in that world won’t be for me, personally. (As an example, I didn’t read Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, and if she continues on from that book I won’t read those stories either.) But Haymitch or Finnick? That would interested me for sure.

Absolutely! Haymitch, Finnick, even Mags–the list of possibilities are endless. Though I don’t think I’d be so interested from a Career District?
I understand about you not reading Ballad–it’s not a choice that was for everyone! I read it and found it fascinating, though. As a story and as a commentary on what it is to be a reader. But it’s not without its difficulties! (though neither was THG, and I think it’s intentional in both cases.)

Oh agreed, I think it was a difficult book intentionally. Hunger Games was definitely a difficult read as well; I was just in a better place to enjoy difficult books when I read it. Who knows? Maybe in a few years I’ll be ready to read a villain-centered book in this series. I’m not discounting Ballad forever, just for the foreseeable future.

Honestly, that is completely understandable–a wise boundary to put up!

I would definitely love a book focusing on Haymitch’s Games for sure. Honestly there are so many characters in that series that I would happily read more from.

Right?! I know it’s almost masochistic, because it would not be easy to read in the slightest, but I also know I’d go straight for it. So there’s that. 😂

I hadn’t thought much about The Hunger Games since I wasn’t a huge fan of the series, but at your mention of Haymitch’s Games, it would actually be really cool to see some of the previous games.
