Created by and with thanks to That Artsy Reader! I always love when seasonal TBR prompts roll around, because I love to plan mine–even if I don’t always stick to them. I’m hoping to stick to this one, though, as it involves reading my March Madness* runners-up–and one more Halloween bonus book to boot…
*My annual voting bracket, where you guys decide my April TBR, across four genres/categories–check out the winners (and runners up) from this year here!
.

1. Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert
Widely beloved, long-anticipated, March Madness Romance runner-up, here I come!
2. The Lies They Tell by Gillian French
This was runner-up for the Backlist category, which means I’ve had (and not read) it for over two years. Long overdue–and coming in the perfect season for a mystery!

3. Wicked by Gregory Maguire
I’ve been wanting to re-read this for ages, so the fact that it’s the runner-up for my Re-Reads March Madness category is perfect timing. Also, it’s just in time for the season of the witch!
4. Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
Last Halloween, my TBR was Season of the Witch themed; this year, I’m thinking Season of the Vampire. Vampire Academy was the Fantasy March Madness runner-up, but reading it now might just lead to me reading the entire series over the spooky season…

5. Wild and Wicked Things by Francesca May
… and if I’ve got time for one non-Vampire Academy book this Halloween, it’ll probably be this one! Look at that cover. Just look at it. 😍
.
What’s on your autumn TBR?
I saw the Broadway play of Wicked several years ago but I don’t think I’ve read the book.

I hope you enjoy it when/if you do! I saw the play on the West End and from what I remember, they’re very different, but I did like both regardless!

I need to get to Get a Life Chloe Brown, too! I’ve heard such good things about that series!

Yes! Super excited you’ll be diving into Chloe Brown. I still haven’t finished the last Brown Sisters book but I do love the first two big-time 😍 I hope you enjoy these books!

I actually finished it earlier this week, so I’m making good time on my autumn TBR so far haha! I hope you enjoy the last one when you read it 🙂

A great list. I have Wicked on my shelves. I bought it after enjoying the stage show, I just haven’t got round to reading it yet…
Have a great week!

From what I remember, it’s very different to the stage show, but I did like both on their own merits!

Oh ok. Same as like a film adaptation then. Excellent. One day I will get round to reading it…

They are making a film adaptation, too, so that’s as good an excuse as any to read/re-read it!

Yes! I tried to re read The Viscount Who Loved Me before it came out on Netflix, but I got too impatient to see it so never finished re reading it!!

Haha for what it’s worth, the season and the book are very similar, so you’ve got the general gist having consumed either!

I think that because I watched series 1 of Bridgerton before reading the book I was waiting for things to happen that never did. But I do know what you mean.

Makes sense! I read the book after the show (sacrilege, I know) so I didn’t entirely have that issue!

It’s all about timing really. Although usually the book is better than the adaptation. I haven’t read the third one and am not sure whether I will before it is out. They are only just filming it now though so…

They’re supposedly breaking the order of the books now though and skipping to the fourth book for season three, so you’d have a couple to catch up with, and I think some drastic changes to spot!

Oh ok. I didn’t realise that. I wonder why. Indeed!

I think it’s something to do with the characters they’ve been focusing on in the show, prioritising them and their stories as they’ve already built up a lot of it!

I suppose that makes sense. You never know when you are going to get the chop so get the good bits in first!

😅 that’s a good point. And get in the stories of characters where there’s already built in interest to try to *avoid* getting the chop!

Exactly. It’s all about the numbers!

Though hopefully the actual plot will be worth it either way 😅

Yes! Fingers crossed! There is a Queen Charlotte thing that they are doing which I am quite excited about!

I did see a trailer for it the other day–it looks interesting!

I did too and thought that it looked good. Then I saw it was part of the Bridgerton series and got extra excited!

They seem to have it so well-matched to the main series, I’m excited to see how it turns out!

Yes. The trailer did give off that vibe. Same!

Someone recently pointed out that they’re making a TV adaptation of Vampire Academy, too–perfect reason to read/re-read it!

Yes!! It’s on Peacock, I think? I don’t have the service… whichever it is. I’ll have to wait. lol

I don’t have it, either! Hopefully reading the series at last will help me avoid feeling FOMO at everyone watching it, haha.

LOL! I’m sure but also… the books are almost always better than the show!

And people definitely felt that way about the movie, so I’d be interested to see the show reaction!
