Top Ten Tuesday: (Five) Books From My Past TBR Posts I STILL Haven’t Read

Created by and with thanks to That Artsy Reader! This week’s theme seems designed to shame me… And reader, it’s worked. 😅

.

1. From my Summer 2021 TBR: Anna K. by Jenny Lee
The good news is that I read 4/5 books from my summer 2021 TBR! The bad news is the one I haven’t read is Anna K.–which was also on my summer 2020 TBR… 😬

2. From my Autumn 2021 TBR: Graveminder by Melissa Marr
I just ran out of time to read this one–but there are always other Halloweens…

3. From the same TBR: Unspoken by Sarah Rees Brennan
I seem to read a Sarah Rees Brennan book every Halloween, so there’s hope for this one this year!

4. From my Winter 2020 TBR: After Dead by Charlaine Harris
This was on my TBR because I knew I’d be finishing the True Blood book series, and I figured I’d want to read the additional content afterwards. I just still haven’t got around to it…

5. From my ‘Dustiest Books’ TBR: Looking for Alaska by John Green
I mean, I confessed on the original post that it was one of my longest unread books. Is it any surprise that hasn’t changed?

What book has made several of your TBR lists?

      1. Also there’s something to be said for reading it at all, I would think, after it’s been on the TBRs for so long! I know I’ve felt that way about some of mine, aha.

  1. Haha! There’s no shame! I just suggested this prompt because I like to look back to remind myself of those books I still want to read. It’s impossible for us to read everything on our TBRs, right?! Anna K was a great surprise for me so I hope you can get to it someday. And I enjoyed Looking For Alaska, as well. I definitely have those books that just stay on my TBR. Usually it’s because the hype is so big I’m afraid they won’t live up to my expectations. 😉

    1. Haha I definitely need to start thinking of it that way instead! I really want to get on with Anna K, and I honestly have no excuse not to have already at this point… But I do get a lot of where you’re coming from with hype–that might be influencing how I’ve put off Looking for Alaska!
