Top Ten Tuesday: (Five) Books On My Summer 2022 TBR

Created by and with thanks to That Artsy Reader! This week’s theme is one of my favourites–I do love a seasonally-organised TBR…

.

1. Book of Night by Holly Black
Is this book what I’d typically think of as a summer read? No, not by a long shot. But it’s by one of my favourite authors, and I’ve been saving it for my birthday weekend, which is in summer, so: summer read after all!

2. The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires by Grady Hendrix
Likewise, I’d planned on saving the vampire book until Halloween–until a very kind and wise TTT commenter mentioned how summery it is, with its hot setting. I was looking to read it sooner rather than later, so (even though English summers are humid at best) I’m leaning in!

3. Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
This should have been a spring read, finished as part of March Madness. But life (and COVID, and Regency Month May) took over, so I guess I’ll finish it in summer…

4. Something Wilder by Christina Lauren
This is another book I’ve been saving as a birthday treat, by my favourite author duo–but it does seem super summery in setting, too!

5. It Happened One Summer by Tessa Bailey
Look: you stick ‘summer’ in the title, that’s when I’m gonna read it. I don’t make the rules.

.

What books are you looking forward to this summer?

      1. I think it’s mostly because the typical “summer reads” are generally quite romance/contemporary heavy and that’s just not what I read at all, so I find it quite easy to go “off season”!

    1. I’ve heard that a lot, and it makes me really curious to try it! Ha, sometimes that happens–I finished it recently and really enjoyed it, I hope you do when you get around to reading it!
