Created by and with thanks to That Artsy Reader! This week’s prompt is triggering a lot of year-long reading shame…
.
1. Anna K. by Jenny Lee
Oh, Anna K. I’ve wanted to read you since last summer, as part of a Summer of Bookish Love romance readathon; but I read a bad book, and it put me in a slump, and then Midnight Sun came along and wiped all my non-Twilight reading productivity off the board, and somehow, you were sidelined. This summer, I swear…
2. Again Again by E. Lockhart
This is another one I’ve owned for a year, and meant to read for a year. Here’s hoping for more successful summer reading this year…
3. Tweet Cute by Emma Lord
Once more: I really have no excuse for the fact that I’ve wanted to read this since last summer, and owned it since last winter. For shame, me. For shame.
4. Leah on the Offbeat by Becky Albertalli
I’ve been wanting to read this one since I read Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda back in April (gush here!). I also just bought Love, Creekwood, in anticipation of finishing the series–and if that’s not good intent, I don’t know what is!
5. Face It by Debbie Harry
COVID permitting, I’ll be fulfilling a 2020 Christmas present and seeing Blondie in concert with Garbage this autumn–so doesn’t it seem the perfect summer-autumn transition book, and the perfect way to get excited for not just this concert, but getting to go to any concert again??
.
What are your summer reading plans?
I read Tweet Cute a couple of months ago and it is the perfect summer read! I hope you enjoy it

I’ve been eyeing Tweet Cute for some time now. Also, I adore Debbie Harry (being a kid of the 70’s and 80’s will do that to you).
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday Thank you!

Me too–here’s hoping this is the summer I get to it! (And yes–there is nothing not to adore about Debbie Harry. This child of the 90s absolutely agrees!)

These plans sound similar to mine—aka all these books that I have wanted to read for ages, and bought a year ago, and still haven’t read… LOL! Best of luck getting to the books you want to read this summer!

Great list! I really enjoyed Leah on the Offbeat, but I do have a major soft spot for grumpy, unlikeable girls. Happy reading!

Thank you! Ha, me too–I loved Leah in Simon, I am excited at an entire book from her disgruntled POV!
