Created by and with thanks to That Artsy Reader! This week, I’m getting sentimental: I’ve been with my fiancé for ten years this month, and if not for the dreaded C-word shutting down the world, we’d have been celebrating it by getting married. Here’s five book quotes about weddings and love, instead…
.
1. Mia and Michael’s wedding in Royal Wedding Disaster by Meg Cabot
Straight off the bat with some vow inspiration:
“Genovian wedding ceremonies aren’t like the ones you see on TV where the bride and groom promise to honor each other in sickness and in health. Instead, Genovian brides and grooms promise to:
Olivia Grace
– Stay true to the Genovian constitution and to each other
– Educate and feed their children
– Never hit each other, their children, or their livestock or pets
– Pay their taxes (even though in Genovia there are no taxes)
– Never throw fish heads into Genovian waters and pollute it, but dispose of them properly”
2. Mia and Michael’s wedding in Royal Wedding by Meg Cabot
Oh, if this doesn’t me hit in the feels, both as a Genovian and a Bronte fan:
“Reader, I married him.
Mia Thermopolis
Ha! I’ve always wanted to write that!”
3. Bill and Fleur’s wedding in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling
Speaking to the very soul of anyone who’s ever tried to plan a wedding…
Ron Weasley
“It’s like being a house-elf. Except without the job satisfaction. The sooner this wedding’s over, the happier I’ll be.”
4. Tessa and Jem’s wedding in the bonus content comic strip at the end of City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare
I’m much more a Wessa/Herongraystairs fan than a Jessa fan, but this one hit me right in the fangirl gut.
“I do love a wedding. But why ever on a bridge?”
Jessamine Lovelace and Will Herondale
“They used to meet here every year. It’s commemorative.”
5. Finnick and Annie’s wedding in Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins
I don’t have a quote for this one: I couldn’t pick one. I love the whole thing. (Also, things are emotional enough without picking up a book that makes me cry.)

What’s your favourite fictional wedding?
Awesome post! Congrats on your engagement anniversary. I can’t say I’ve had a favorite fictional wedding book-wise, but does the Hiccstrid wedding in “How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World” count?

Thank you and thank you! ❤️ I’ve not actually seen How to Train Your Dragon, but dragons + weddings has to = something spectacular!

Oh, Ron Weasley! Ha ha. My son just got married in January. Since I was the mother of the groom, I didn’t have all that much to do with all the planning and such, but it was still a stressful time. A happy time, but a crazy, hectic one 🙂
Happy TTT!
