February Wrap-Up

I had a plan for my bookish February: an entire month of Valentine’s reads. And then the Grishaverse happened…

I started February with a good fluffy romcom: The Flatshare. It had been on my TBR for a while, and it was so worth the wait–I binged the last part of it because I couldn’t wait to find out what happened next! It was sweet, it was funny, and then it took me totally by surprise, exploring harder topics with a careful hand (TW: emotionally abusive relationships). A really cute read to start off Love Month!

Just in time to pull me out of my The Flatshare hangover, To All the Boys 3 approached on Netflix–and I had no real choice but to reread some of the series. I read; cried; watched the final film; cried; regretted nothing. πŸ™ƒ

And then, right in the middle of what I expected to be a month of romance reads, I saw the trailer for Shadow and Bone–and realised just how soon Rule of Wolves comes out, for someone who wanted to do a full series reread beforehand. So the fluffy reads were benched in favour of starting that series reread, beginning with Shadow and Bone, Siege and Storm, and Ruin and Rising. I hadn’t reread these before, so it was interesting to pick up all the nuances I couldn’t on my first read–I’ll be having an entire month of Fangirl Fridays dedicated to the Grishaverse in April, after Rule of Wolves, so more then!

I assumed I’d finish the Grisha trilogy at the end of February, but apparently I’d forgot just how easy they are to binge–I finished all three within a week. πŸ˜… I continued the series a little out of order, with The Lives of Saints, as a palette cleanser between the trilogy and my favourite duology of all time. I only read Saints in December, but I enjoyed it just as much as the first time–more, for having just read the trilogy and feeling enveloped in the world. And those last three stories… Someone was cutting onions nearby/I had allergies, all right?

And that was my bookish February! March approaches, and brings an entire month of Grishaverse reading with it–including my favourite part. NMNF…

How was your reading February–and what’s your bookish March looking like?

  1. Definitely have to reread the Grishaverse books again at some point. I had a pretty bad reading month, but that’s okay. Glad you did well!
